The doctor will usually not do a cardiac catheter if the preasure is only mildly elevated. They rely on the results of the Echo & follow up on the results. That’s the way my Cardiologis has handled my PH & I’m confortable with her approach

- Diagnosing pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and other cardiovascular diseases
- Monitoring disease progression in PAH.
- Evaluating blood pressure and oxygen levels in the right side of the heart and lungs.
- Identifying any ventricular dysfunction caused by PAH.

A Right Heart Catheterization (RHC) is needed for:

RHC is the gold standard for diagnosing PAH and is also used for risk assessment and prognostic evaluation.
