Anyone Else Relate?

A myPHteam Member asked a question 💭

Just had another 2d echo done earlier this month and had my follow up with my cardio doc today. Pressure went from 47 6months ago to now 50. He finally suggested for me to see a pulmonologist to possibly get the right heart catherization done. He also mentioned that the number could be differrent because it depends on how big or small the tech circled the area that needed to be measured during the 2d. Anyone relate and their numbers ended up being lower or higher after having the procedure

It sounds like you're going through a challenging time with your pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Here's some information from my knowledge base that might help:

- Echocardiograms: These tests provide an estimate of pulmonary artery pressure but can vary based on the technician's measurements
- Right Heart Show Full Answer

It sounds like you're going through a challenging time with your pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Here's some information from my knowledge base that might help:

- Echocardiograms: These tests provide an estimate of pulmonary artery pressure but can vary based on the technician's measurements.
- Right Heart Catheterization (RHC): This is considered the gold standard for diagnosing PAH. It provides precise measurements of blood pressure in the heart and pulmonary arteries.

Many people find that their numbers can differ between an echocardiogram and an RHC. The RHC is more accurate and can confirm the diagnosis and severity of PAH.

Happy Turkey Day to you too! ❤️
