Why Is It The Dr. Said I Can’t Have No Colonoscopy Or Surgery When Sedation Because I Might Not Wake Up. Why Is That
Hi Kris2, My Doctors want me to hold off as I said earlier but they also said that if I have the procedure done that I should have it done with a cardiovascular anesthesiologist. They have a few more years of schooling and deal with PH /PAH. Not all hospitals have them on staff but its worth looking into. Good luck ❤️🙏🏻
Kris2, I've had a pacemaker change out, very knowledgeable anesthesiologist at the heart hospital, a colonoscopy at the hospital here. I'm now trying to get my pressure numbers down enough to do a hip replacement. I did well on the first two. I will go to a larger hospital near Dallas. The doctor said I could go ahead and have it but it's risky. So I will wait to try and get the numbers down. This PAH Is not our friend. I'm almost 82. I hope this helps your fear.
Well I went under anesthesia for broken femur in Nov.. No problem. Now I am in need of knee replacement not scheduled as of yet, but I have a colonoscopy and an upper GI to be done at the same time scheuled for mid Sept.. Because of the risk w / anesthesia, I keep stating that I want to request the same anesthesiologist whom I had in Nov. Well apparently such a request has never come up. Dr's hosp. staff just are too bewildered to provide any type of answer. They look at me like I am a 20 ft. alien from some other planet. I've been told that all anesthesiologist would have the same knowledge about PAH and anesthesia risk. They don't understand where I'm coming from. I already had the one guy and didn't kick the bucket so I have a little more faith in him. So why can't I be the first to request an anesthesiologist? Just because it hasn't been done previously perhaps it's time that that changes, as with everything else in life that changes. The anesthesiology dept. doesn't keep an office or any way to contact them. Thanks for listening or reading actually.
