Julie: If it’s a chronic dry cough it could be a symptom of several things. It could be allergy, stress, GERD, Lymphoma, heart failure, etc. don’t just take otc cough meds and ignore it. At least get an x-ray

Just adding my two cents worth. Yes, a chronic cough can be an indicator of cardiac issues including congestive heart failure. It is important to convey this symptom to your physicians so they are aware of it especially if you have foamy or bloody sputum.

I've had a cough for a long time now that was caused by IPF which has also caused me to have PH. I still have the cough and it's gotten worse. I've tried all kinds of cough medicines but haven't found anything that works. I've gotten used to it now.
