There are new drugs in the pipeline for Group 2. Winrevair is in Phase 3 of clinical trials for group 2. And I have a meeting 2/10 with my PH specialist to begin talking about my maybe participating in a new clinical trial just starting up with a completely different medication. I have no details on that one yet. I didn't qualify for the trial for Winrevair...I wasn't sick enough yet.

I tell people I'm on a 10 year plan as I'm just assuming the research will become fruitful and help extend my life beyond the 5 to 6 years conventional thinking talks about.

The new drugs sound hopeful. Good luck with your clinical trial- hope it's successful. You are fortunate to ve a PH specialist. I just have a cardiologist who I get to see every 6 months. But he was good about ordering lots of testing which narrowed down my diagnosis. I just recently learned that I have HCM (probably all my life), and then a little later, PH as a result. How about you?

For Group 2 pulmonary hypertension (PH), caused by left heart disease, the five-year survival rate is better for women (61.8%) compared to men (47.1%). Life expectancy depends on factors like the severity of heart disease and response to treatment. Early diagnosis and management can improve outcomes. For more details, visit Show Full Answer

@A myPHteam Member what were your RHC numbers including your wedge (PAWP) number? Are you on Jardiance? I have bi-heart failure (congestive heart disease) stage 2/3 and Afib which the Jardiance has been helping. I had a CardioMems implanted a year ago so I get my numbers reported weekly. My systolic averages now around 36-42 and my diastolic averages 14-18. My last RHC they did a fluid challenge where my wedge went up to about 28! Without the challenge my wedge was only 14 which is why they did the extra component
