Heather, if the trial is through an NIH grant, the government just halted them.

Down to the basics: is it a double blind trial? With those neither the doctor or you will know if you are getting the drug being tested or the placebo. I was on a trial for a drug for rheumatoid arthritis. It already had been on a double blind trial. I was taking the real pill, which was already on the market. The stage I was on was to verify the percentage of people who had the expected results, and the secondary effects. Since I had no benefits and some secondary effects, I'm in the control group now, not taking the drug.
