Has Anyone Heard Of This Or Considered Asking Their Dr To Try It?

A myPHteam Member asked a question 💭

Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Zepbound (tirzepatide) for the treatment of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in adults with obesity, to be used in combination with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Although I was unaware of this, it makes sense. Obesity is a major cause of obstructive sleep apnea.

Zepbound is not as affective at reducing weight as say Wegovia. The company just got it approved to reach another market of users (those with sleep apnea) to increase the population that can benefit from insurance covering it. You still have to be overweight.

Anymore, for myself, I am not inclined to EAT SOMETHING MORE (be it food, supplements, or medication) with the idea that it will solve a weight issue. Discipline may not be for everyone, noted if you have a sedentary life! But that is my current philosophy. So is my dedication to run my life with the fewest medications and resulting medication dependence as possible. Having been grossly over-medicated for over 10 years, I view the 'take a pill for that' remedy as suspected quackery, esp. if it is something I can control for myself, by myself. It is a last resort for my psychological benefit, and exercise of Free Will. I still wish to be in control of me, for as long as I am able to do it. With everything I have lost, I still have willpower, in abundance. All I lacked previously was the will to USE IT.
