Hi Friends. Does Anyone Suffer From Excruciating Leg Cramps When They Take Water Pills( Diuretics)? And What Do You Do?
I'm taking 2 different water pills and prescription potassium and when the cramps get really bad I rub my legs with a salve that my landlord makes with magnesium and other stuff in it and it works good.
My hubby just reminded me that when I used to get very bad cramps, leg cramps in particular, I would take one or two QUININE pills. The bad thing about this method is that you have to wait until you have a real cramp, next you have to put the pill under your tongue until about dissolved, then water as soon as you can walk or reach to get it. For a bad cramp, really bad one, I could take 2 pills, and it would be one after the other, not at the same time. The nice thing is that it always (and I mean ALWAYS) worked. The taste is from 'meh' to 'BLECH!', but they are very tiny too. But to lose a cramp, it's worth it! Now that I do leg stretches at bed time they have almost vanished. I have also changed my diet quite a bit too, so less to no milk at bed time. Also no fake foods and things with artificial chemicals which everyone in the family has grown sensitive to.
Potass 150 prescription every time I take Lasix. Dill pickle juice is always a good go too!
Prescription potassium.
I also take magnesium citrate at night, helps with sleep and muscle cramps. I also use Voltaren cream on my old knees and feet. That has helped me a lot. Different things help different people.
Can it be Bread & Butter pickle juice 😀???
