Hello Everyone!
My wife was diagnosed with idiopathic PAH this summer. Thankfully, she's been getting better lately but she's been struggling with nasal congestion for months now and it's very infuriating and frustrating for her. It is the cause of one of her medications (I think it is sildenafil).
Could you provide some advice on how we could make it easier for her? Is there any method or something that helps with her stuffy nose? She started doing yoga and taking long walks which help for a… read more

I want to share I have that same problem. You didn't mention if she is on oxygen but if she experiences any type of dryness of the sinus openings, she might try something that has proven successful for myself and numerous other members, it is an affordable clear gel comes in a small tube, takes only small amount and is affordable called AYR. The AYR brand sells some other nasal products, I have never used anything other than the gel. I will second what Heather said about the saline. I have learned what works for me is, to squeeze in each nostril and tilt my head back allowing drainage further into sinus cavity. Lastly, I use the breathe right nasal strips. The strips immediately open my sinuses. I wear them during the day, and even wear them when I leave the house and don't care if I look dorky wearing them. They provide that much relief in my case. Another helpful piece of advice to share is that the actual Breathe Right brand is worth the extra cost over the WalMart brand and any other generic brand. I get much more use out of name brand. They can last as long as three days or till I shower. The generic ones I have had last one hour sometimes and than loose the ability to stick. And they never stuck as long as a 24 hour period of time.
Does she sleep with a CPAP? That really helps me! as well!
Since I don't know what brands you have access to in Budapest, I will also tell you that some essential oils can help as well...those containing eucalyptus and lavender. I use a commercial blend that I use near my bed called Respire.
I have found the only thing that works for me is Arm & Hammer NIGHTTIME Simply Saline Nasal Mist with Eucalyptus. My PH specialist has approved it for daytime use as well. I can only find it on-line but for me it's the absolute strongest and best solution.
