I Live In Placida, Florida, Near Port Charlotte And Venice, And I’m Looking For A Cardiologist Who Has Experience With PAH Patients.
I have PAH, and I’m currently stabile. I am quite a distance from a PAH center, and would like to find someone close to home for routine care.
Yeah. When we were choosing where to live out our “golden years”, the availability of great healthcare options helped make the Phoenix area a winning choice for us.
Sounds like a good plan.
I am surprised that Florida only has 4 PH Clinics. Arizona has 5 though 4 of them are in my county. The other is in Tucson. Mayo is one of them in my county but they don’t take my insurance. The clinic I go to is the newest of the 5
Thank you @A myPHteam Member this is so helpful to know. I requested an appointment with Mayo in Jacksonville PH clinic and will ask my PCP for referral - it may take a while to get an appointment, but I think it will be worth getting this properly diagnosed. I know APS can cause PH and I have another rare condition MELAS that can also cause PH, so Mayo will be most equipped to help me.
I get a lot of substantial assistance from my clinic’s social worker, the clinical nurse and the pharmacist liaison who manages the process of getting financial assistance. And of course my actual PH specialist is much more aggressive, accessible and knowledgeable than my general cardiologist and my general pulmonologist.
PH specialty clinics do more than just diagnose and medically treat their patients. There is a lot of behind the scenes work by a true PH Clinic to help navigate around sll the obstacles we patients face.
Is There Any Members Of The Group Who Are Diagnosed W/ PAH, Who Have A Cardiologist?
My Cardio Said My PH Is Bad, But The Pulmonologist Said Meds Don't Help And Send Me Back To Cardio. Is This Common?
How Many People Are Seeing A PAH Specialist And Not A Pulmonologist?
