In The Last Week Or Two I Can't Remember Who, And I Can't Find The Post, (like That's A Big Surprise Finding The Post).
Someone had spoke about they find themselves holding their breath at times which causes them even more shortness of breath. I found this interesting because I do the same thing. I do it mostly when I'm going to carry something or do some kind of form of action or something like that, and then I end up with more shortness of breath. I thought I was the only one that did that. Does anyone else find themselves doing this?
Yes, I have to stay aware of my breathing pattern when I do any activity, at the gym or just doing housework. Due to my pulmonary fibrosis I don't always breath in deep enough, so I have to put my hand on my stomach to make sure I am not just chest breathing. Just look up diaphragm breathing, it does help!!
I do this all the time. My rehab
Has given me exercises for breathing. I didn’t realize I was breathing wrong.
I was moving my chest up to take a breath instead of moving my stomach diaphragm out. I still catch myself just breathing out of my mouth. I think I have been doing this wrong my whole life. My dr said it is common for people with asthma and allergies .
When I am active/exerting myself, I make a point of deep belly breathing! Everyone thinks I am out of breath, but I am not. I am avoiding becoming breathless by ensuring that enough oxygen is still pumping around!!!
I catch myself all the time. Typically concentrating on typing or doing something I’m into.
I do the same thing.. wow
