I take them every 8 hrs. which is technically 3 x day, however any other med I have been prescribed antibiotics as an example I took them in the a.m, aprox. noon, & a p.m dose. I have been on these meds for a while now and for the life of me I miss so many doses off and on mostly the 2nd dose and occasionally I will miss the late, late night dose. It's ridiculous. In the afternoon I will be doing something could be anything except meds. and I will in my mind tell myself "o.k. when I finish… read more

Thanks, now that I have recognized my own downfall of missing med doses. I catch myself wanting to postpone the dose for 15 min, till it's more convenient. That doesn't work so I am focussing on catching myself wanting to postpone and telling myself "no I must go take the pills NOW. because it is the only way I feel I am going to get a handle on this missing doses. I have proven to myself that a postponement in the taking of the pills doesn't work. I have to force myself into a new habit that will work.

It's true, we often need to be adjusting and compensating to deal with this in the best way we can.
It can feel a bit of a battle at times!

oh...I also got myself TWO pill planners so I could arrange two weeks at a time of pills. This one works great cause each day comes out and can be carried in a handbag easily. My morning Lasix is kept in a separate pill holder at my bedside.

What worked for me was the following: When I was on Adempas and had to take it 3 times a day, I was taking pills FIVE times a day. What I worked out was this...IL bought THREE identical small and very portable alarm clocks via amazon (cheap enough) that I could set for 4 different alarms a day. I would take my Lasix and Adempas when I was still in bed when my bed alarm would go off at either 5, 6, 0r 7 depending on when I had to time being free from the toilet due to the Lasix. My 3 identical alarm clocks were set for all my other medications. I kept one on the dining room table, one in the kitchen or my office depending on what I was doing, and the other in my handbag!. Each night before I would click on the clock alarms based upon my plans for the next day. about half the time my mid-day Adempas was taken while out and about so those days my alarm wold ring from inside my handbag...or I remembered and turned it off before it rang when I took the midday pill. I bought very small bottles of water that I carried in my handbag on those days.

I was eventually taken off Adempas but recently was put on Gabapentin which was also a 3 a day pill. after the first few days, it quickly became routine and I never missed a dose. Even though I am now off the Gabapentin as well, I still use 2 of those alarm clocks ...one on the dining room table, the other moves with me around the house along with my phone. I'm just used to it now.

And I still take my Lasix while I'm still in bed. I set the alarm usually for ether 5 or 6, take the pill, and go back to sleep till the pee urgency gets me fully awake and ot of bed about 45 minutes later.

Amazon says this is currently unavailable but I am sure there are lots of similar alarm clocks out there.
