Are There Any New Treatments / Meds For Group 3 PH
i thought they had some meds also . . what does sotatercept treat ? i already go to a lung doctor , so is any use in going to A PH specialist if i have group 3
Groups 2 and 3 are only treated by treating the underlying causes. For Group 2 that would be cardiac. For Group 3 that would be lung.
They're just gonna push more pills or even worse..a pump.
Sotatercept, also called Winrevair, is only approved thus far for Group 1. It’s in phase 3 of clinical trials for Group 2. It is further behind for group 3. I applied to be in the trial for group 2 but I was rejected for not being sick enough yet.
Yes, it is worthwhile getting to a PH specialist. They can best finetune what additional kinds of tests you should have and will work with your pulmonologist to oversee the fine details of your care.
My cardiologist works VERY closely with my PH guy who really oversees a lot of my cardiac testing now
There are other meds like diuretics, or vasodilators that might be appropriate. I’m not in group 3 so I don’t really know
Uptravi Prescribed To Pt W/ PH WHO Group 3 (sleep Apnea)! Made Him SOO SICK, Looked It Up & It's Only Meant For Pt's W/ PAH Group 1!!!
