Unfortunately, what you are feeling is quite normal. Low oxygen levels don't always correlate with shortness of breath which can be caused by a number of things. Heart catheterizations can provide many answers. A left heart catheterization can look for blockages. A right heart catheterization can determine if you have pulmonary hypertension. Even after cardiac catheterization it is likely your doctor will order additional tests to see if you have blood clots in your lungs, assess your pulmonary functioning, and even determine if you have sleep apnea. Depending on the cause of your medical issues the proper medications can make a huge difference for many.

It sounds like you are referring to a right heart catheterization. This test is considered the gold standard for diagnosing pulmonary hypertension. During this procedure, a doctor inserts a small tube (catheter) through a large vein in your arm, neck, or groin and guides it into your heart and lung blood vessels to measure blood pressure.

Regarding your oxygen levels, it's important to monitor them closely, as pulmonary hypertension can affect how well your lungs and heart function. If you have concerns about your oxygen levels, please discuss them with your healthcare provider.
