Hi Georgette, I have CTEPH and being treated on the same drug. I have good and bad days but my Dr said everyone is different but a lot of people are surviving 10yrs. I’m inoperable and had my Right hand side Cath done and my pressure was 75 soo high and he didn’t give me long then the drug kicked in and I also had a ballooning of the arteries in my right lung and now my pressure is 51. After 1 procedure. I probably need up to 6 though. Is the Pulmonary Rehab working? I haven’t started yet. Hope ur feeling ok. 🙏 There is hope and never give up. We can do it all. ❤️❤️

How long you live is really dependent on how well you respond to the medications and interventions to treat CTEPH, age, and other comorbidities. We all have an expiration date. Only God knows when it is. Many people with PH live well beyond the current life expectancy statistics.

Thank you so much. My pulmonologist and I agree I am not a good candidate for the surgery.

No one, can give you an accurate answer to this unfortunately. I've met many people with PAH, that were given "months to a year", and they are still alive many years past that, and are doing great. Medication is getting better, and advancing all the time. I personally believe lifestyle and diet, both play a huge part in people's survival rate. Most people have a disease, but don't want to stop smoking/vaping, start exercising, or change up their diet (which includes cutting put processed foods, and other high sodium foods).

The fact you are going to rehab is great. There are a lot of people, who swear it makes a huge difference. Talk to your dr, and see what he/she recommends. Ask about diet, and lifestyle, and keep going to your rehab. I 🙏 it makes a huge difference for you, and you start feeling better. Also ask them about PEA surgery. Ph from cteph is the only ph, that can potentially be cured, due to surgery. Good luck, hope you start feeling better.
