What's The Point Of An Initial Doctors Appt W/ A Specialist. Why Can't They Set All Those Test Up Before We Come?
I don't understand why our initial appointment with a specialist, is solely made up of making appointments to have test done and then creating follow up appts to see that specialist again once you have the test done and they read the results! Why???!!!!
It’s frustrating isn’t it. Especially the blood draw part. Not as a new patient, you don’t want to start off on the wrong foot, but after you’ve been established, I’ve asked my Dr if he could put the orders in before the appt. That way we could discuss them during the appt. Common sense right? Duh!! 🤪
Even with that, they need to know your symptoms to know what blood test to draw. With me, my symptoms are always the same so I can put the cart before the horse.
Yes is crazy but test must be approved and they always start with the cheaper ones first, than work there way up
I just feel like it's an appointment just to make other appointments. Stupid question yes. But I had to day it. Somebody has to know what I mean lol. Ifykyk
Additionally, insurance may require certain indicators to be assessed before they can approve expensive testing. I am not sure, but I believe my Medicare requires an echo be done before they will cover a RHC and I needed a blood test before I could get a bone marrow test which I needed before having a PET Scan, etc.
Donnette, the rt cath goes into rt ventricle to lungs to measure pressure there. That's when my PH was discivered.
