Dianne My name is Anner Johnson and I have sleep apnea and pulmonary artery hypertension
I never have been Big I don't think πŸ€” they know what causes anything I'm down to 139. Pounds that's because I stopped eating lots of food with sodium and salt I cut back on lot of that food if I go out to eat and they cook it for me I asked them to not to use much salt or seasonings and really they do a good job doing that
It's very good . it's hard to stop Cold turkey and I watch my Fuilds also because it's against PAH on the lungs 🫁.
Have a wonderful blessed day πŸ™
Hope everything goes well for you πŸ™ it can be a challenge but keep pressing your way through it better is coming for All of us πŸ™πŸ™πŸ˜‡

From what I understand, they kinda go hand in hand. If you have one condition, you generally have the other as well. I have both. I will admit that the cpap does help with the breathing issue.found out the hard way..

Hey love! Yes there are causations. I’m in Group 3, but also considered idiopathic (no known cause), which I really haven’t taken the time to research to fully understand. I think Sleep Apnea certainly plays a part, but for me there was an underlying condition that is not known. That’s what I believe they mean:

Here is some information for you from the Mayo Clinic:

Group 1: Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)
Causes include:

Unknown cause, called idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Changes in a gene passed down through families, called heritable pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Use of some medicines or illegal drugs, including methamphetamine.
Heart problems present at birth, called a congenital heart defect.
Other health conditions, including scleroderma, lupus and chronic liver disease such as cirrhosis.
Group 2: Pulmonary hypertension caused by left-sided heart disease
This is the most common form of pulmonary hypertension. Causes include:

Left heart failure.
Left-sided heart valve disease such as mitral valve or aortic valve disease.
Group 3: Pulmonary hypertension caused by lung disease
Causes include:

Scarring of the lungs, called pulmonary fibrosis.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Sleep apnea.
Long-term exposure to high altitudes in people who may be at higher risk of pulmonary hypertension.
Group 4: Pulmonary hypertension caused by chronic blood clots or blockages in the pulmonary artery
Causes include:

Chronic blood clots in the lungs, called pulmonary emboli.
Tumors that block the pulmonary artery.
Group 5: Pulmonary hypertension triggered by other health conditions
Causes include:

Blood disorders, including polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia.
Inflammatory disorders such as sarcoidosis.
Metabolic disorders, including glycogen storage disease.
Kidney disease.
