I Need To Buy A Portable Oxygen Concentrator. I Think I'd Like One That Can Do Pulse Or Continuos Flow. Any Recommendations? Thanks !!
I have PAH, ILD, Scleroderma, and Asthma.
Continuous flow is great but check the price differential. Also, check the hidden costs. The machines use ‘columns’ to convert air to oxygen (I just simplified the process). Depending on how often you use the machine it could get pricey. The Inogen was costing me $150 every 3 months. Are you on Medicare. See if you qualify for a machine.
I do have my own C02
oftrn a d pap machine portable, machine. It's pretty heavy I put it in my walker to get around in the community. I have Home C02 machine in my bedroom and a portable C pap machine and nebulizer. I'm going to have to use nebulizer more Often than before. I also have anxiety attacks with my symptoms and I takin g Mirtzapine every night as longs with Diatazism and my depression med 1 x .owning 30mgs and 1x evening 60mgs. I keep all my neds organized so I won't take the wrong pill. Morning pills in zip lock bag evening zip like bag in my supply cabinet.
Talk to your pulm team, they may know when one is donated. I went around and around with my O2 tank supplier (got nowhere) and was lamenting to my Pulm team when one of their other patients spouses called and said his wife no longer needed hers (she passed) and he wanted to donate it. I was blessed to get that donated machine.
A durable medical equipment company can help you find a machine that best meets your needs and satisfies the physician's orders and insurance/Medicare requirements.
I have an Inogen g5. It only does smart pulse and I have found it to be very reliable. The batteries last much longer with the smart pulse. Your diagnosis is the same as mine. I have not used it overnight yet but Inogen says it will not be a problem.
