Remodulin (Treprostinil) is a medication used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Here are some key points about its intravenous (IV) use:

- Administration: For IV infusion, Remodulin is administered through a thin, flexible tube called a Hickman or Groshong line. This line is permanently implanted into the chest and attached to a pump worn on the belt or as a backpack.
- Side Effects: Common side effects include skin reactions at infusion sites, headache, jaw pain, nausea, diarrhea, edema (swelling), and hypotension (low blood pressure). IV infusion carries the risk of serious infection, including life-threatening sepsis.

Have you tried the subcutaneous Remodulin? I'm currently on the subcutaneous but when I was in the hospital for 2 months I was on the IV Remodulin.

I was hospitalized very very sick, diagnosed and stabilized on IV remodulin and Adcirca, discharged after 6 wks that had also included a GI bleed requiring 3 units of blood. Did go home AOK and managed the IV remodulin ok with a lot of support and with home care 24/7-I live alone…I had one other night in hospital because my remodulin order from CVS Specialty pharmacy didn’t arrive before I ran out of med-VERY poor care on part of CVS specialty pharmacy…and that never happened again thankfully and med arrived on time after that MAJOR screw-up….Thankful for remodulin and grateful for the helpers….
