There are too many variables. We all have different causes for our PH, different medical conditions, different lifestyle choices. Treatment varies depending on the cause of your PH. I have PAH. There are lots of treatment options that weren't available in the past. Some tolerate the medications better than others. Rather than focus on the endpoint, everyone has an expiration date, I focus on living life as best as I can. Make the most of each day!

Gloriamaria, I was diagnosed in 2009 with PH. I think it has to do with how advanced the disease is for each person, their lifestyle, and if they have other health conditions. My stats change with each echo. I can be at a serious level, then the next heart echo will improve and I feel much better. I don't understand the fluctuations but it's part of living with PH. Take each day as it comes, and my motto is " What a difference a day makes!"

Karen733, yes, a heart attack could take any of us out in a day. And that is whether we have PAH or PH or not. Our time could be up this very minute, but having a good attitude and a positive outlook counts for a lot. Being realistic is fine, we all have to face our mortality. But God only knows when that time is up. You did a first class job recalling the Phillips CPAP failures. I would not have any Phillips CPAP or any of their machines just because I can't trust that they are the best for anyone. Once that trust is lost, it's really hard to gain it back especially with a life and death matter. Keep fighting, don't give up, if you do, you will go down in a hurry. God bless, LB

@A myPHteam Member you make an excellent point. How well we do or don't do is largely determined by how advanced our PH is and how much damage has been done. As for the Philips CPAP debacle, you might consider looking into the class action lawsuits related to this. If nothing else, it could offset medical expenses you've already incurred.
