Have any of you found that dietary changes have helped your PH. I read an article recently that said that would help. If so what you have you done.

I have become much more cognizant of salt and sodium intake. I also try to limit my fluid intake as much as possible at the advice of my physicians. Other than that, I basically follow what is traditionally known as the Mediterranean diet, which focuses on small amounts of lean meat, limited red meat, limited sugar, low saturated fats, lots of healthy fats (from EVOO, nuts, avocadoes, etc.) lots of fish, whole grains, lots of vegetables, and fruit. This way of eating focuses on fresh, whole foods over processed foods which are loaded with lots of saturated fats, added sugars, salt/sodium, and preservatives. If you purchase food with a label, the ingredients should be real ingredients that you recognize and the list should be limited.

It is also advisable to limit or eliminate caffeine and alcohol if you have PAH. Both can cause vasoconstriction of the blood vessels in the lungs, fighting against the medications used to treat PAH. Also, the medications used to treat PAH are processed through the liver, requiring frequent labs to monitor for diminished liver function. For this reason, alcohol should be limited or avoided altogether.

No salt, I also cut down on dairy, when I eat I eat smaller meals and don’t get over full because it makes it harder to breathe. I also have taken over 70lbs off and it helps to breathe some. I made a whole lifestyle change

I limit the salt and suger , and eat healthier but have not found any impact on my PH. The steroids I take for the PH and gMG make it hard to lose weight.
